• When Betty's eyes opened, she saw the fabric of a tee shirt just in front of her eyes. A quick glance around confirmed she'd been sleeping with her head in Dylan's lap. He'd pulled her robe up around her like a blanket. The darkness of the living room told her she'd been asleep for a while. Dylan was doing something on his cell phone, seemingly unbothered by the fact that she had him pinned to the couch. He put the phone down when he recognized that she was awake and smiled down at her, "Hi Mom," he whispered.
